SALVADOR DALÍ
IMMERSIVE EXIHIBTION
This fictitious immersive exhibition project on Salvador Dalí at the Grande Halle de la Villette explores the creation of a coherent parallel universe through the animation of his surrealist works. The goal was to showcase the visual and conceptual interconnection of his artistic corpus, revealing an almost magical world where each element dialogues with the others to evoke the re-enchanted and wondrous nature of the Dalínian universe.

The post-production work required a full week to prepare 14 of Dalí's works for animation. Every visible element within the compositions was individually cut out in Photoshop, and Adobe's AI image generation tool was then used to reconstruct the backgrounds hidden behind those elements. This methodical approach ensured smooth animations with no empty spaces or visual breaks, creating an organic continuity between the different layers of each work.

Three interconnected animated sequences of 3 minutes each, totaling 8 to 9 minutes, were produced entirely in After Effects. The puppet deformation tool was used to subtly animate the elements within the works without excessive distortion, preserving their visual integrity. The chromatic identity revolves around four strategic colors: red and yellow as a reference to the Spanish flag, and blue and green drawn from Dalí's predominant palette. This vibrant art direction creates an immediate visual impact while honoring the artist's work throughout the animations.

The communication campaign encompasses all promotional materials: posters, social media content, ticketing, and exhibition storefront. Rather than directly reproducing the works, the visual approach stages the surrealist animals and wondrous characters from the Dalinian universe to evoke the project's magical side. The typographic treatment plays with unconventional yet readable compositions, where title placement visually accompanies the abnormal and dreamlike quality of the visuals. The four bright colors of the identity—red, yellow, blue, and green—reinforce this recognizable and striking imagery that targets both art connoisseurs and young audiences.
